Actor David Schwimmer is separating from his wife

Many people know actor David Schwimmer from the popular show "Friends," which has been airing on television since the 1990's. He and Zoe Buckman, a photographer, have been married for six years and have a child together.

The couple has mostly kept their relationship private. They met in 2007 and got married in a private ceremony in 2010. It was recently revealed, however, that the relationship has not been entirely healthy, and the couple has agreed to take some time apart in an effort to reflect on their relationship and make a decision down the road concerning their marriage and their child. This appears to be a mutual decision.

It is unknown whether the couple has a prenuptial agreement between them, which could really benefit both parties if the couple agrees to call it quits for good. It is also never too late to create a postnuptial agreement, which basically outlines many of the decisions that would need to be made during the time of a divorce.

Creating a prenuptial agreement or postnuptial agreement at a time when a couple is together can help avoid potential issues down the road, when couples may be fighting and are unable to work together, compromise or make mutually agreeable decisions due to tension and resentments which may have caused the divorce. Prenuptial agreements and postnuptial agreements may be especially valuable for celebrities or those with high assets. These agreements can delineate who gets to keep certain assets in the event of a divorce.
