Attorney David B. Mitchell is not only thoroughly immersed in his profession, but deeply involved in his community. A graduate of Leadership Miami, has served on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations in the Coral Gables area and Miami-Dade County.
Mr. Mitchell was twice awarded the Key to the City of Coral Gables by its mayor in recognition of his significant contribution to improving the quality of life of his community. He served as the past president of the Ponce de Leon Development Association, the Rotary Club of Coral Gables (District 6990), and Coral Gables Citizens’ Crime Watch. He was appointed by the mayor to serve as chairman of the City-Wide Anti-Crime Committee, the Public Safety Committee and a municipal advisory board, and as a member of the city’s Emergency Operations Committee.
David Mitchell is also a member of the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the Two Hundred Club of Greater Miami, and is a founder of the Coral Gables Museum. He is presently Florida state president of the Sons of the Revolution, and is a past president of the Miami Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He is also a member of the Order of Founders & Patriots of America, the Baronial Order of Magna Carta, the Order of the Merovingian Dynasty, the Order of the Crown of Charlemagne, the Jamestowne Society, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Royal Society of St. George (U.K.) and numerous genealogical and historical societies throughout the United States.
Mr. Mitchell is an active member of the University of Miami Alumni Association and a member of the University’s Legacy Society. He is also a member of the University of Oxford (U.K.) Alumni Society, American Friends of Oxford, and the English Speaking Union (U.K.). He is a widely-regarded speaker on the philosophy and principles of the American Revolution and the Magna Charta, having published three articles in historical periodicals on these topics in recent years.
